“And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.”
Galatians 6:9 KJV
Earlier this week. I wasn’t feeling my best. I was feeling down about my new business, my transition, my job… I was just feeling overwhelmed. As I stood alone in the kitchen, I made up in my mind that I was just going to quit. I was going to stop trying to fulfill my vision and just do nothing until it was the “right time”.
My husband could tell something was off. He took my hands and said “Babe, you’re in the midst of your quit cycle. Don’t Quit.”
It was like I woke up from this depressed mood and saw the light again. He was right.
For the last 7 years, whenever I tried to start a business or blog, if it didn’t get the return and attention I wanted within the first two weeks, I quit… and I was two weeks into my new vision of Hey Girl Intl., and it wasn’t getting the attention I wanted. I wasn’t getting the affirmation from others that my vision was a good one. So I was in my “quit cycle”, ready to quit again.
How many of you have a “quit cycle”? You get so excited to do something, but because someone else does it, or we don’t get the likes and follows we want within a certain period of time, we stop thinking our dream and vision is any good.
We place too much weight on the opinions and approval of others. People, who have no idea why we have the vision or dream in the first place, are dictating whether we should continue or not. We base it on likes, sales, follows, and views, instead of passion, drive, and a determination to change the world.
The scripture above tell us to keep going, don’t stop. Don’t get weary in doing the thing you know you were put on this earth to do. Don’t quit. Don’t let others tell you if your vision is enough through a double tap.
It is more than enough. YOU are more than enough.
Know that if you don’t get weary, there’s a promise ahead for you. You will reap. That business will take off. You can get that promotion. That relationship will prosper.
But there’s a catch.
You will reap… but ONLY if you faint not.
All of your wildest dreams can and WILL come true… but ONLY if you don’t give up.
Still need some motivation? Look at the two women in these photos. Aren’t you glad these ladies didn’t quit?
